We finally went to see Riders in the Sky. We took Clogger for her birthday which is tomorrow, Monday. The concert was held in a 300 seat soft-seater theater. (Sounds funny,...is that how you say that? ha) Riders were great! We were so busy being entertained that we did not even once remember to keep a set list! They do have a well-polished show, very smooth and full of humor, classic songs and great music all around. Wonderful harmonies! They are real pros at this, obviously, and keep the show moving right along. There was not one moment where you wanted to even check your watch or where you got bored ! They did the show 90 min straight up with no intermission! So singing all that time without breaks is pretty good for fellas that ain't spring chickens. ha. I have clogged two hours for a show before and I know how taxing that can be!
They did all he usual tunes you would expect them to do such as "Wa Hoo", "Tumbling Tumbleweeds", "Rawhide", "Woody's Roundup", "Santa Fe Trail"...and even threw in a bit of "Stairway to Heaven"! Really! They did! (Too Slim is a nut, ha ha) I'll let Clogger give you the details on that one! I think my favorite tune that they sang was "The Wayward Wind". Beautiful harmonies and great tune! Loved it! I'm now wanting to learn that one. Out toes were tapping on the first song of the evening and kept up right to the end. In fact the ydid a fiddle tune midway thru their show and it was all Clogger and I could do not to jump up and clog along! But we'd sort of be like Lizzy and his table ha ha ha!
We got to speak with them after the show. Very nice gentlemen. It was funny because Woody Paul thought we were Amish ha ha. Got a kick out of that. We told the guys about Clogger's site here and how we are fans of MCR. We also shared how we all enjoyed their performance at MCR earlier this year. They got a kick out of the fact that this 15 yr old runs this forum for MCR talk and music. So of course they agreed to post for this pic for the website. Cali!! We forgot to as them if they wear Manuel suits. Durn!
So if you haven't seen the Riders in the Sky, go see them if you get the chance! Worth it! So glad we did!
