So... I decided to make an "A little about you" thread for us all to be introduced! Even though technically we know each other already, it's also a just-in-case-someone-totally-new-joins thing. Plus it's fun lol. So. My useless information: I'm 14 (in a week), I play guitar and uke, And I live in Michigan. I am a clogger (hence cloggercass) and everyone can just call me Cass! or cloggger. or cloggercass. Or anything really, except late for dinner. How did I find MCR? Well, Moose and I were watching the live MCR broadcast of the IBMA nominations. The chat was going but we weren't in it. And Moose mentioned that they had a weekly show in there. About 2 months later I thought about that and bugged Moose into watching it ( ) and Here we are! It wasn;t till about 2 months later that I talked Moose into getting in the chat, and it wasn't till about a month after that that I made the cloggercass account. So what about you? And how did you find MCR?

You know me as ArtRice on MCR Chat and I'm really somewhat of a newbie to MCR. Donna Ullise's management/agent ( ) at Hadley Music Group sent me an invite to JimmyJam in August. Not just to enjoy the music but obviously to help with a donation.. And I've been doing my best since then not to get "tazed." About me: Born in Tokyo (yeah, Army brat) Sang in choirs all through school til high school graduation. Sang and played rhythm and lead guitar for Sing Out Baltimore (a local offshoot of Up With People!) from late 7th grade til early in my Senior year. Did four years with Uncle Sam in the US Coast Guard Spent a couple years at NASA in Maryland with their communications division (NASCOM) Moved to Fla., got married, had some kids (did both of those twice.) Worked at Home Shopping Network for about 10 years... (between jobs) Played (picked) acoustic guitar off and on throughout the years and in recent years decided to re-learn music theory for guitar and unlearn all of my old bad habits. Finding time to do this is increasingly difficult and here I am on another forum. So, heavy into learning blues styles, hence the assortment of electrics. (No, the Jaguars are not good blues guitars but they are great for Jazz, Surf, and alternative...) Currently work in IT for a financial investment firm... So, what do you do?

Weclome mcrjohn! So glad to have you aboard. There may well be questions from us or members, so it will be handy to have you stop by here often.
For this thread, I have not introduced myself yet.....so here goes..... Clogger Cass did mention some of how we came to be viewers of MCR in her post. We did come here for an IBMA event and then forgot about it for a while. Only remembered that MCR had this fantabulous show on other weeknights but when Wednesday would roll around....forgot! Finally Clogger remembered on time and then we started watching again. We have been hooked/addicted/drawn in or what have you, ever since.
As many already know, I am cloggercass's "parental unit" (Thanks Calgonian1 ha ha ha). I play some clawhammer style Banjo, fiddle. Even less guitar, ha. But music is a big part of my life everyday. Couldn't live without it. So I am glad to have MCR to bring to my ears, new and never-heard-of-stuff to my ears on a weekly basis.
Moose

Welcome mcrjohn! Yeah, I'm sure we will have lots of questions.
Since Jimmy Jam, I've actually turned a few other people on the the Wednesday night shows (they are too shy to chat though.) I think they are all stoked up for this week's show.

Knot, it was SO good chatting with you tonight on MCR! I'm sorry to hear that you're going through some rough times, but I'm glad to hear that you're getting things sorted out, as difficult a process as that undoubtedly is. I'm glad to know that you're listening to music, as I believe it's an important way of healing, especially for music-lovers like us. Keep in touch with us as much as you can and let us know how you're doing. Stay strong and wrestle those demons to the ground; I know you can do it. May you have a lovely Thanksgiving. Cali

Hello, I really enjoyed MXR tonight and am glad to have been introduced to the show by one of my very favorite vocalists, John Cowan. I have lived in St. Louis for nearly 25 years and my roots take me back to New England (CT and ME). I also lived for a short year and a half in Grand Rapids, MI. I love living where I can listen to lots of good music so I am happy here in STL. I do not play an instrument or sing well, so you can find me as a loyal member of the audience, appreciating music an average of a couple nights a week during the school year and more during the summer. I have a passion for learning and have enjoyed sharing that joy with my students for many years. I use music in the classroom often as it is a great tool for engaging even the most difficult to reach student. In addition to enjoying music of various genres, my hobbies include gardening, birds and photography. I look forward to learning more about all of you and listening to MCR on Wed evenings.

so many tears tonight....i am so thankful for all the good in my life. I am praying for you. I had a disabling go round with PTSD-like anxiety issues that peaked in 2010 and led me to the help of EMDR, a treatment that really got me back to the top of my game. I will be praying that you find similar success very soon.

What grade do you teach? I teach also Moose Moose, I teach High School students who are severely cognitively challenged complicated by multiple issues (physical, sensory, communication and emotional). Music and empathy are my strongest tools. We have a good time and enjoy helping them mature and improve their quality of life Funny that I felt a connection immediately with you, Moose. There's the laf/laugh thing and the moose thing (my parents are from Northern Maine and live there part time in their retirement years) and I loved living in Michigan when I was in Grand Rapids. Thanks for the welcome! What grade do you teach? Linda
