LIZZY!! Make that banjo guy go away!! He's scaring me!!! Actually, how do we know that is not actually Gene Simmons and that he is really a closet banjo picker? ? (Laughing my head off now) As for that darn Yankees link....Ain't Uncle Ted hilarious? Dave: "Ted, are you still the Motor City Madman?" Ted: "Full time, Dave, Full time!" Did you know that Ted lets Dave be the Motor City Madman on Saturdays now? Here is the link...it is near the end of this short clip..... Motor City Madman
I really thought you should know in case someone quizzes you about it sometime this week!

Moose, that's Cleetus the Killer Banjo Player. Here's another alter ego (I hope clowns don't freak you out): Well, there is always a first time! (Actually Fireball Mail is a great traditional old time tune and I think I have seen this one...I'll watch it in a minute)

Sad news everyone! The writer of Dueling Banjos has passed away! He was 93, so it is not like we lost him early. Still, ...we owe him great gratitude for writing such an iconic song, bringing the banjo more into the forefront of our musical world! Arthur Smith, writer of Dueling Banjos has passed away
A sad day in the world of banjo.

How many banjos can you have on one stage and still have a good jam? Who knows! I don't think anyone has hit the MAXIMUM amount allowed under law yet! Here is a vid I came across with 4 banjos onstage as well as Bela Fleck, SCR, Del Mcoury Band, Sam Bush, & Steve Martin. It reminds me of MCR's jams at the end of the night. Pay close attention to Sam Bush at the 4:42 mark! He is a sneaky naughty boy! But Bela isn't taking any trash from Sam! He finds out what Sam is up to! The Crow

My goodness! That Cedric Watson is great! Love the tone he gets on that gourd banjo. He plays it very nice also. Love that it is fretless too. A lot of claw players prefer fretless. I have never played fretless and don't think it would be easy for me at this point. The other links.....nice walk down memory lane! Earl sure was quite the player. Def one of the heavy hitters in banjo! Thanks Art! You Rock & Roll! Moose

WHOA!!!!!!!!!!!! What a COOL Parade! ha! I have never seen anything like this, ha! Thanks for posting! I just want to know how strong the fella was that was CARRYING the upright bass thru this parade. My goodness! I'll bet his arms were sore at the end of the day. (I hope he had a strap.) I noticed that there are all sorts of banjos in this group. Even saw a Banjolin too. There were accordions for Fest too.

Cali!!! TERRIBLE NEWS! I was reading from a thread on a musician site that I am a part of........ Folks were discussing a great tour that Jason and Pharis just completed. They toured around Canada doing small intimate venues. After all that hard work......after their last venue...some idiot stole all the money that they had made on the tour! How sad. I hope the vagrant is caught and soon. It just makes you sick to know there are (and have always been) fools who will stoop to this level with such nice people. OK. I better stop.
