Hi Caligonian I know there are a lot of people who like the old country like you and they think the new country is not country music. I mainly grew up mostly on Southern Rock! and Rock and I think somewhere Southern Rocks and the New Country cross paths and the new Country has a Southern Rock Feel! (ArtRice Help me out with this theory?) My first country CD I bought was Johnny Cash at San Quentin and it started me out a Rocker Gone Country then I barrow a few Hank Williams JR CD from a friend and then Gretchen Wilson Here for the Party! CD came out and the Song Homewercker! I found a new Home in Music! Now I have been watching MCR the last Few Years and I am Digging Bluegrass and all the new music I have discovered on MCR! So if it Rocks I buy it! And want to see it Live! Johnny Cash live at San Quentin Folsom Prison Blues link Walk the line link Jackson link (This Song Rocks) Gretchen Wilson Here For The Party link
(Gretchen Wilson Lizzy New Home in Music!) (Artrice Help me out!?) (Moose are you Feeling it?)

Lizzy, you picked a great first C&W album -- Johnny Cash live at San Quentin. I have my family's very old LP of Johnny live at Folsom Prison, plus some 45 rpm records of Johnny when he was recording for Sun Records. I started out as a baby listening to '60s C&W music and later moved on to rock 'n' roll. You did just the opposite. But we still ended up on the same musical page! Cali

Carlene Carter "The Leavin' Side"link
Lizzy, "The Leavin' Side" is one of my favorite Carlene songs. Were any liner notes with musician credits included with your copy of "I Fell in Love"? I know that Jim Lauderdale sings backing vocals, and Levon Helm is on some of the songs. Cali

Art, thank you for these -- what a rousing way to start the week! While watching the last video, I was wondering what kind of instrument the percussionist was playing. Imagine my surprise when, at the end, I saw that he was playing spoons! We need spoons on MCR! Cali

Art, I really liked the Kentucky Headhunters videos. The first one reminds me of a bluegrass tune, and as for the second one, well, it's always great to hear a Don Gibson song. Plus, the video was quite funny! Cali
