I had the privilege and pleasure to see and play the worlds largest public display of Deering banjos ,and to meet Greg, Janet and Jamie Deering,The banjo i,m thinking about wasn,t there though, Janet has told me that there will be a new model next year fitting my specifacations .and i wont have to pay custom build price they are really nice folks . Greg was on hand all day tweaking and inspecting banjos . And there was a banjo workshop with jens wich was very infomative , followed by a BIG JAM link . I am stood next to Greg , with a beard and baseball cap ! . it was my first ever public performance ha ha i wasn,t expecting an audience. had a brief chat with with Jens, uwe, and joel, I.ll treasure the smiles i put on their faces . and will remember the wise words of advice i was given when i,m pickin my banjo and see their autographs . the day was full of great bands ,and a pickin session in the cafe, culminating with a concert by the Kruger brothers , which was their third set of the day . amazing is an understatement, ...... Felt like i had died and gone to heaven , it was a pickers paradise !

Wow! How cool is that? Thanks for sharing your exciting adventure with us! I am shaking my head. (By the way, you didn't tell us which one in the video is you! ) I have heard many times over that the Deerings are really nice folk, so I am glad you can confirm that. I have never met them, but am a member on a popular banjo site where you also hear good stories about them. I do play a Deering and love mine. It isn't the fanciest thing, but it is easy to play and learn on. Until I reach some better skill levels I will keep playing my Deering. Then I plan to get one of those "dark & moody" banjos. It gives me something to look forward to. But I ain't complainin' bout my Deering. I plan to keep it as a back up or travel banjo if and when I get a nicer one. Deering makes a good solid banjo at all price ranges I believe. Thanks again for sharing your story! And how cool to meet the Krugers! I have heard they are nice fellas too. Moose

I see you Pick! ! ha ha ha. Beard and Hat! Cool! ha! Glad you had a great time. As for Ralph, he has severe arthritis in his hands and no longer plays his banjo. The last time I ever saw him play was probably just one song in the band's set list at a festival probably in 2010 maybe? I was not there live, saw it on the internet. But maybe someone can correct me if I'm wrong on that.
