So, I used to frequent a game called Howrse and we all had our own forum on there- Forum Games were THE THING, and while I know like a thousand of them, this is a good place to start: Guess the First Line of a Song. Instead of Guess The Song, where you post a verse or more, we only get the FIRST LINE of the song. The original challenge was to list 20. Personally, I think that's overkill, so we'll put on a minimum of one and a limit of five. ____________
Rules: -Post minimum of one and maximum of five first lines -Any song you like, and band you like, any genre you like- just no guarantees that we'll know them all. -If you really wanna post and don't know any of the ones in the post above you, you can pass and post your own. -You probably shouldn't guess a song that someone already got. I mean, I guess you could, but it's kinda pointless.
_____________
Okay, I'll start...
1. Did you see any action? 2. Something's at the edge of your mind 3. On the first part of the journey 4. I crawled up the mountain 5. Baby here I am I'm the man on the scene
Good luck....

This time, my head is intact and I recognize #5 as a song that was a recent Nashville Jam on MCR, "Hard to Handle". Otis Redding ~ "Hard To Handle" www.youtube.com/watch?v=1ZxN9iQM7OY

I'm not sure if I'm following the game's rules correctly, but here's my list. Bonus points if you can guess the connection between the songs.
1. "Wellll, you wake up in the morning..."
2. "When I find myself in times of trouble..."
3. "Clouds so swift, rain won't lift..."
4. "I want to live, I want to give..."
5. "I've got a song, I ain't got no melody..."

You should look closely at Clogger's song #4....."I crawled up the mountain, please don't ask me why I take my bucket with me to get closer to the sky With the clouds below me, the words rang out around Tears of glory on my face, I throw my bucket down Clogger's Song # 3 is America's "Horse with No Name"? # 2 is Rik Emmett's (Triumph's) "Magic Power" #1, I am sure is Head East, "Never Been Any Reason" #5, sounds like the right answer to me Cali! "Hard To Handle"

Moose, your guesses for #4 and #5 on my list are correct! Thanks for the answer to #4 on Cass' list -- duh, I should have known that one right off the bat. Uff da me. Remember, on my list, all five songs are somehow connected.

"Hard To Handle" Yup! You're doing great! It's not like something bad will happen if you mess up the rules, lol. Hmm. #3: You Ain't Going Nowhere, by Bob Dylan? Let's see... I', not gonna do all five, but here's a few. 1. Doin' alright, little jiving on a Saturday night 2. Sayin' I love you is not the words I want to hear from you 3. An old cowboy went riding out one dark and windy day

Yes, Cass, you got #3 right! So far, you and Moose have correctly guessed "You Ain't Going Nowhere", "Heart of Gold", and "Will It Go Round in Circles". There's an MCR connection between these three songs and the two that haven't yet been guessed. Think "apple bourbon", like Craig was talking about tonight.

An old cowboy went riding out one dark and windy day I googled the first two and found them, but they're by bands I've never heard of. The third one did ring a bell, probably from all my years of listening to gunfighter ballads and trail songs. Here's a version by my all-time favorite musician: www.youtube.com/watch?v=V1xSYyMDaq4

Terrapin, you guessed #1 and #2 correctly -- good work! And you get bonus points for correctly guessing the connection between all five songs. Yes, they have all been Jam songs since MCR moved to Franklin in July. Now that all five songs on my list have been correctly guessed, someone else can come up with their own list -- first lines from five (or fewer) songs for the rest of us to guess. All genres of music are accepted.

Moose, don't feel too bad -- after all, I completely missed Jim L.'s song on Cass' list. Embarrassing!
