Hi Friends - I've been dreading writing this post for almost a week now, but wanted to let y'all know that right after MCR last week, I went to get Elzy out of her cage to feed her some salmon I had saved from my dinner, and I found that she had died (sometime during MCR). Whatever happened (heart attack?) must have happened fast so I don't think she suffered. She was a sweet old bird/companion for 27 yrs and lived a longer life than most cockatiels but I sure am going to miss her! The silence around here is deafening. I wanted to let you know since you've all been so sweet and supportive of me and my pets. Bobbie and Scruggs are doing fine but seem to know something's missing around the house. RIP Elzy~ Attachments:

Oh, Fest, I'm so so sorry to hear about your loss. Can well imagine how deafening the silence is at your place. It's hard to lose ones we term pets. They are just as much family and more "people" than most people I know. Thanks for letting us know. Our hearts are with you.

Feel for you. I'm on a daily watch with Holly, my sweet mixed retriever/lab/spaniel companion for the last 14 years. Measuring the balance of Quality of Life and mercy is no easy trick. The bargain we make.

ohhhhhhhhhhh, so sorry to hear this news about Elzy. I am sure the others pets will know that she is gone and will miss her. Animals are like that. They know. What a shock it must've been to find her like that. I always feel like pets are part of the family, I know mine always were. Our hearts are with you and Scruggs and Bobbie. Moose And thanks for thinking of us about Elzy. We do care about each other and "our" pets too.

The bargain we make. Our last dog, Quincy, passed away when he was 15. He was such a great guy! Airdale! They are full of such energy and he didn't slow down. We just noticed that he began to develop an unusual smell. The vet discovered he had cancer at the base of his tongue. He did not suffer but we did not have him much longer after that. He was my hardest one to let go of and say goodbye. ...........He was my hardest goodbye........ They sure do worm their way into our hearts don't they?
