You know, I am a fan of good songwriting. I really pay attention and want to hear/understand lyrics to songs I like. (Some songs I don't like....cause the lyrics do not sound right to me!) Anyhow,.....I really love that tune "1952 Vincent Black Lightning". Several lines in that song stand out to me as really cool songwriting,...ie...."...red hair and black leather, my favorite color scheme" and of course, ".....He was runnin' outta road, he was runnin' outta breath". I know this is a Richard Thompson penned tune. I have been meaning to research Thompson sometime for a few years now but alas, I have not had the time. I am sure the fella has more gems out there so I must put this back on the list of things to do when I get a chance! At Thanksgiving we go on a short hiatus from performing so then, maybe I'll have time! I like to read up on the artist too, not just read the lyrics. So all of this is to say thanks for the cool quote by Richard Thompson!  |
