All of us are always discussing or taking about the next new CD that is coming out that we can't wait to buy! I know that Cali is anxiously awaiting Jim's next CD. So I thought this might be another neat thread idea. C'mon everybody, and....all of you lurkers out there! Jump in and let us know what you are looking forward to! You might give another one of us another CD to put on our "buy" list! In the chat last week, NC mentioned that Dirty Kitchen has a new album coming out this summer. I was surprised because I still, even today, can't listen enough to their last release! I am really still enjoying it. Today I saw a promotional video for one of the songs off of the upcoming release and I must say..... , " I LIKE!!!" Here it is... Better (Days go by)
(Thanks for the heads up ncbluegrassman!)

Moose, your timing for starting this thread was great, as I'm expecting a new CD, "Common Ground: Dave Alvin & Phil Alvin Play and Sing the Songs of Big Bill Broonzy", to arrive tomorrow. Some of you in the forum may know that I used to live in SoCal and occasionally would drive down to Los Angeles to hear the Blasters, the band that Dave and Phil founded, play live. It was in connection to the Blasters music that I first heard the term 'American Roots Music' and realized that was where my musical home was. The brothers have had their ups and downs and differences over the years, so I was elated when I discovered that they had recorded this album. All of us Blasters fans have reason to rejoice! The official Dave Alvin page on YouTube has posted the tracks to the new album, so you all can listen and decide if this album is something you'd like to add to your music collection. www.youtube.com/channel/UCsyq6L8WjdoB8fUvaQmgpAwI bought my CD from Amazon.com for only $9.99 (plus shipping). www.amazon.com/Common-Ground-Alvin-Songs-Broonzy/dp/B00JBV28NQ/ref=sr_1_1?s=music&ie=UTF8&qid=1402544186&sr=1-1&keywords=dave+alvin+and+phil+alvinI can't wait to play this CD for my Little Viking Sister; she loves the Blasters and the Alvin Brothers as much as I do.

These "Blaster" guys sound very retro! I do believe I can hear shades of Bo Didley and others in their songs!
