OK, you asked for it...here are two selfies of me with ChefDave at Shakori Hills Grassroots Festival of Music & Dance this weekend! And, just look at who is playing in the background. :)It was so nice to meet and hang with Dave some, here and there - we first found each other at no other than Jim Lauderdale's Front Porch workshop on Songwriting, before his set on Friday (with Donna the Buffalo as his band). Dave got a much better photo with his camera. I can't wait to see it! Musicwise the festival was great, and included some MCR alumni including (aside from DtB and JL): Driftwood, Barefoot Movement, Elizabeth Cook/Tim Carroll, Ben Sollee, & members of Town Mountain and Mandolin Orange. Other great acts included the Indigo Girls, The Brothers Comatose, Richie Stearns & Rosie Newton, and a Mardi Gras band from New Orleans whose name escapes me at the moment. Unfortunately, the weather was less than stellar with very cold temps the first night, then lots and lots of rain which turned the farmland pastures into a major mudfest on Fri and Sat, ending with some sun on Easter Sunday but high winds that turned campsites into a mess of flapping tarps and the loss of anything that wasn't staked down securely, lol. On the upside, we didn't have any snow or ice! Attachments:
