Did you miss MCR and the chat room tonight? I did.

I was thinking that if anybody is interested, we could try having our own 'encore presentation' of MCR next Wednesday at the usual time. We could choose an archived MCR or SCR show that appeals to all of us and turn the forum Shoutbox into a chat room. Here's how it would work:

We assemble in front of our computers on the usual day (Wednesday) and time (7 p.m. CST). Then do the following:

Open a window (full size) with MCR live stream. musiccityroots.com/live-stream
Find the desired archived show and open.

Open an entirely separate window (not tab) with the MCR fan forum. mcrfans.freeforums.net/
Login.
Shrink (but not totally minimize) the window.
Drag the window to the right-hand side of the screen (where the chat room box is when we stream live).
Resize the window to make it fit nicely.
Scroll down to the Shoutbox.
Begin 'shouting'.

Remember, the forum window needs to stay on top of the MCR window, so that you can see both at once.

Note: We'll all have to start the MCR 'play' button in sync, so that we're watching the same thing at the same time, plus or minus a few seconds.

If these directions don't make any sense or if you have any questions or suggestions, please let me know. You may want to practice doing this before next Wednesday, so that you'll be ready when 'show time' arrives. You guys get to be guinea pigs (just what you always wanted, ay?)! Have fun with this and let me know if it does or doesn't work.

Moose, I just found out that I'm gonna have to be square and miss tonight. I unexpectedly have to drive my sister to Eugene to her doctor's to pick up a prescription and then take it to the pharmacy to have it filled. I don't expect to be done by MCR start time, although if I'm lucky, I might be able to join you guys mid-way through the show. Uff da..... s0732

Well, no big deal. We are thinking that you, me, clogger and Lizzy may be the only ones doing this archive show...sooooo, we will hang tight here and see if we get Lizzy to chekc in here when he gets home..then maybe start then? Clogger said it seems like he gets in closer to 8:30 ET (5:30 PT)

Maybe we should have thought about Lizzy before we set this up? Of course now we think of it! ha! Been real busy around the house this week so haven't been able to get in here much.

OK, then...I'll keep the chat (shout) room open and see who comes round.

Oh yes, I really enjoyed just hanging out with virtual friends and chatting about music we all love. It was fun for us to each share videos and talk about them. So hilw we missed the orchestrated MCR show...we had fun in a different way doing our own thing. Maybe we should just gather during MCR breaks in our shoutbox and do the same thing. That way folks can come in and out as they are able...ie....like Lizzy did when he got off of work and where you came in when you got home. Lindalafs dropped in and we had fun chatting with her too. s0201
