Okay, I'm felling a little snarky toward my new Snark tuner! I've only had it for a month and already it has broken. One of the prongs on the back of the top part of the unit, where the display is, that fits around the 'banana', broke. I had read that this sometimes happens with these tuners. I was hoping that I'd be one of the lucky ones, but oh, how wrong I was. Has this Snark breaky thing happened to any of you? I'm thinking of gluing it back together (how cheesy is that?). I won't be able to rotate the display but I don't think that'll be a big problem. Do any of you have tuners other than Snark that you're fond of?

Although I have a Korg tuner which I got years ago when I first got my fiddle, I have since moved over the the Snark World. And I love mine. Clogger and I each have one of our own. I have heard stories of the plastic parts of them breaking.I have been fortunate where as mine nor Cloggers hasn't broken. I have, however, had problems with the rubber pads on mine falling off. But the pads glue back on easily. I don't know, but if I it were me, I'd try gluing it back on too. I really would consider that. You can make sure you position the face of it where it is good for you before you glue it. You can get Snarks pretty cheap on Amazon, so if it doesn't work, you could always get a 2nd one and save that one for a "parts Snark". I wonder if you could even contact Snark and see if a replacement part is available? I have never tried it, so don't know if it is possible.
Don't really know that I've helped you at all here, but I hope something works out for you! When you are trying to learn something new, it sure isn't easy to have little mini-roadblocks like this pop up !!

Moose, thanks for the advice. I think I'll probably send an email to Snark telling them of my dissatisfaction. The tuning part of the unit works great, so I think I'll just glue it onto the 'banana' and let things be. I pretty much keep the display unit in the same position every time I use it, and I'm only using it on one type of instrument, so I think gluing it will be okay.

Yes, Cali, I would glue it. I've not had anything happen to mine, but then again I don;t often have to rotate it, I just leave it the same way (lucky all my instruments are the same angle).

Thanks, Cass. After discussing it with you and Moose, I think it's pretty much settled that I will do the glue thing later tonight.

Let us know how it works out. It could happen to us too.

I have a baby Planet Waves tuner clips on the headstock. Thanks, Art. I've been wondering about alternatives to the Snark. Cali

Another clip on is the Intelli Tuner, my favorite guitarist Rik Emmett uses them. He seems to like them, but I've never actually seen/used them.
